This was our first sonogram of Lisa's pregnancy. The dark spots in
the center are three sacs--each of which had the potential to grow into
a fetus. Although not visible in this picture, there was actually
a fourth sac that was much smaller and misshapen when compared with these
three. While we didn't worry much about the possibility of quadruplets,
the real possibility of having triplets was a bit unnerving. About
a week later, we learned in a subsequent sonogram that we were having twins
(two heartbeats were heard).
