- After Brian and Kristina's wedding the night before, we slept overnight in the dorm. Heidi graciously
took it upon herself to wake all of us up at 9:00 AM so we could get ready for brunch
- I took nearly eighty pictures before, during, and after the wedding, but (through user error) I managed to
accidentally delete a full roll of 36 pictures (including the wedding ceremony). I was really bummed...
- We packed up our clothes that we took to Spain--this involved a lot of repacking since we didn't have the foresight
to pack our Wisconsin clothes at the top of our suitcases. Regardless, we finally got them packed and sent
the rest with my parents back to Minneapolis where they'll ship them back to us. Because of this, we were
able to avoid carrying two full days of clothes and an extra suit to Spain--I don't know how we would have made
it!
- We left for Chicago a little after noon. We weren't sure how long it would take us to get to Chicago,
return the rental car, and check-in for our flight (which departed at 5:30 PM). Our estimates turned out
to be very conservative, so we were completed with everything by 3:00. This gave us some time to find a currency
exchange desk--both Lisa and I got $100 in Spanish currency (17,000 pesetas each).
- We watched some football at the gate (Tampa Bay versus Washington) while we waited for the departure time.
We also learned that both Minnesota and Dallas had won their early-afternoon games (Dallas won in overtime).
The flight departed on time--we took a British Airways 747 to London's Heathrow airport
- We were anxious to get some sleep on the way over to Spain (it was already 11:30 AM in London when we left
Chicago) so we could minimize our jet lag (if that's possible). We were frustrated that we weren't served
dinner on our flight until we were more than two hours out of Chicago. During dinner we both had a large
glass of wine and took one Tylenol PM, but we didn't have a chance to try to sleep until about 2:00 AM London
time when our trays were cleared. The seats in coach weren't very comfortable, so the best we could do was
doze on and off for the three and a half hour (or so) we had before our breakfast was served on the flight
